The Sardinia region

Alghero is an ancient medieval city, with Catalan influences. Its old walled town has similarities to old town Barcelona and Dubrovnik. Alghero is a rare Italian phenomenon, a tourist town boasting a flourishing fishing port. Situated on the Riviera del Corallo there is much to see and do in Alghero.

Amust see is a trip to the Grotto di Nettuno, accessible by land or boat,frequently accompanied by schools of dolphins. Hill walking, tennis, diving and cycling are very popular with visitors as are the stunning beaches and clear blue seas. There many excellent restaurants, bars and shops.
